Five reasons you need a break
It’s not uncommon to see individuals working through their lunch breaks or sacrificing time away from others in order to squeeze out extra work. However, did you know that not taking a break can actually be detrimental to your wellbeing?
Intuit offered five reasons you need to take a break:
1. Your best ideas come to you when you’re relaxed.
2. Your brain becomes more resilient.
3. Your brain needs time to process new information.
4. It’s good for your body.
One of the reasons, your mind needs to rest and recharge, was explained by Intuit:
[note color=”#B6D6F0″]Like a muscle, your brain needs to take a break after focusing on a task for a long period of time. You may not “strain” your brain as you would a muscle, but after a period of time, you may find that you’re unable to concentrate as well as when you began the task at hand. One study found that paying too much attention to one activity hinders performance.
