Signs you’re in a happy work environment

According to a recent Inc. article, 63% of employees aren’t engaged in their roles. In addition, 24% are actively disengaged at work. However, there are still happy workplaces where employees feel appreciated. Below are signs that you’re in a happy work environment:

  1. Communication will matter to the entire team. Communication is transparent for everyone, from managers to interns. Everyone is kept in the loop. And employees are seldom surprised by changes that occur.
  2. The objective of the company will matter. Employees are eager to accomplish the objectives of the company.
  3. You know you’re an important part of the team. Everyone feels like they matter. Every individual feels that they are a key member of the team with unique talents and skills.
  4. Gossip isn’t acceptable. Gossip is not tolerated. Problems are solved openly.
  5. Everybody is open to change. Employees welcome change. Everyone is open to new concepts and ideas.
  6. Growth will be encouraged. Employees are given opportunities to grow and advance. Leaders offer training programs and give promotions. Employees are given new responsibilities that challenge them and allow them to gain new skills.
  7. The mood within the workplace is a positive one. Employees are smiling and generally happy. They interact well with one another.
  8. Turnover is low. Lower turnover typically translates into content employees, great benefits, and opportunities to grow within the company.
  9. Nobody feels any fear at work. Employees do not feel afraid to voice their opinions honestly. They are not afraid to say the “wrong” thing.
  10. Everybody supports one another. Employees feel encouraged by team members.
