Exercising at work increases productivity
Now that we are well into the New Year, thousands of people around the country are flocking to gyms for a variety of reasons, such as weight loss and improved physical health. However, did you know that increased physical activity may also have the effect of increasing productivity at work?
A study from the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine found that employees who spent 2.5 hours a week being physically active at work were more satisfied with the quality and quantity of their work life, reported an increased work ability, and used less sick time than employees who did not engage in physical activity.
While some may not have jobs that offer enough autonomy and flexibility to exercise a couple of hours a week, any amount of exercise is likely to bring about positive work outcomes.
