Surprising reasons to welcome failure
No one likes to fail. However, failure can lead to a lot of positive outcomes. A recent Pick the Brain post highlighted reasons why failure may actually be a good thing.
Reason #1: Failure means you are trying. If you are failing, it means you have begun the journey. You are making progress in achieving something or learning a skill. You are taking the necessary steps to get to your destination. If you stop, you will not fail, but not succeed either.
Reason #2: Failure brings you closer to your goal. There are no shortcuts in accomplishing goals. However, every step brings you closer. Failure means you are inching closer towards your goal.
Reason #3: Failure toughens you up. Those who have succeeded have endured hardship and have adapted with resiliency. These individuals have rebounded and moved on. Failure teaches you how to be tough and get back on the horse, which will ultimately lead to success.
Reason #4: Failure teaches you important life lessons. You cannot learn unless you make mistakes. Mistakes should not be viewed as failures. Rather, they should be viewed as lessons.
Reason #5: Failure is better than regret. There are many people who give up on achieving their goals. There are so many reasons to quit. However, if you quit, you cannot succeed. If you continue to try, you will be more fulfilled than if you never tried.
Reason #6: Failure teaches you what you love. Failures teach you to see what you are willing to endure for your dream. The goals that are worth the effort are the things you love.
