Values your company should live and die by
Company culture is everything. What kind of values do the most successful companies have? A recent LinkedIn article highlights five values that your company should live and die by.
- Trust: Have faith in employees to do the job they were hired to do. Allow them to spread their wings when ready. Coach employees, guide them, and support them throughout the process by eliminating barriers that stand in the way.
- Transparency: Be open with employees about your company’s business decisions, financial well-being and other important information. Transparency fosters trust.
- A meaningful mission: Let your employees know that they are making an impact. Or even better, involve employees when creating the mission.
- People building: “People build” instead of “manage”. People-building makes employees feel more valued. People building activities include: internal job opportunities, digital network building, benefits, and supportive policies.
- Work-life balance: Foster work-life balance. Encourage employees to take regular vacations and other time off.
Build off of these five values and you will see improvement in your company’s culture. When employees are valued, they will value their organization back!
