Why you still need to meet in person
Technology has come far…quite far, actually. Over 150 years ago, the telephone was invented; 30 years ago, the Internet was conceived; and within the last couple of decades, videoconferencing has taken-off. Now, technologies such as Skype and WebEx are so accessible and commonplace that many individuals and organizations are using it as a replacement for physical meetings.
Leveraging technologies for communication has many obvious benefits, including increased efficiency and connectedness. However, Inc. Magazine made a case for why, despite these technologies, it is still important to meet in person whenever possible.

Most business conversations are focused on solving a problem quickly and efficiently, while business relationships are built when people take the time to share and learn more about each other. That happens more naturally in person than over the phone or in an email. What cements a bond between people? Small talk about a favorite team, passion for pecan pie, parenting challenges, and the other bits and pieces that make us unique and interesting.
